Things to Alter guest design team

Hi everyone,

Today I am featured on the Things to Alter blog with the cards I’ve made using Jac’s gorgeous wooden embellishments. The theme I was working to was shabby chic cards, and I thought Craft Consortium‘s Wild Rose paper collection would be perfect for that.

Here’s the short super-speed video of me making them all:

For my first card I decided to go for a large 8×8 card blank to fit the pretty ‘birds on a wire’ wooden embellishment.

I painted the two leaf flourishes and left the birds plain. And you can’t have shabby chic without a doily.

Things to Alter Clean and simple card with Pink Fresh doodle background stamp by StickerKitten

This one is more of a clean and simple style card. I used the Pink Fresh doodle background stamp that I mentioned a few weeks ago here, and stamped it in Stampin’ Up Mint Macaron ink. I painted the wooden hearts with docrafts Artiste acrylic paint.

I used a gatefold card blank for this one with the Stampin’ Up Balloon Celebration stamps and punch set.

And on this stepper card I used the geometric background wooden shapes and painted them gold, adding a die cut butterfly and Craft Consortium resin rose embellishment on the top and stamped sentiment and paper flowers on the bottom panel.
