Tales from Willson Wood Cards

Hi everyone, This week I have been crafting with the new Tales from Willson Wood range from docrafts. I’ve made each of these cards with paper and elements from the A4 Ultimate Die-cut & Paper Pack.

For this one I combined two of the decoupage elements – the owl and the frame – and I think they go really well together.

For this one I found the woodland decoupage really tricky to press out from the background, and the paper was quite flimsy so some bits tore. Not sure if docrafts have changed the quality of the Ultimate packs because I’ve had quite a few before this and none have had these kinds of problems. There was also a lot more unevenness in where the image was die cut making them harder to layer and a lot of the elements seemed wonky when pressed out – they looked like they should have had straight edges but they were very uneven. So not impressed with the quality this time, but the imagery is pretty. I always think the Ultimate packs could do with more sentiments though and smaller bits to fit on cards. You get extra press out bits like memory pockets etc that I just don’t use.

For this card I used one of the simpler large decoupage pieces on a Stampin’ Up Crumb Cake card blank with a doodled border and a Opulent Forever Friends acetate sentiment on top. I love these! They feel so super modern and more in line with the type of cool card embellishments the American brands are doing but at a much more reasonable price. I’ve used one on another of my recent cards here.

Gorgeous cards, Sarah. Always love your stuff :) I was tempted to get the pack but you get too much and I’d never use it all xx
