Mermaid Treasures scrapbooking and cardmaking inspirationby StickerKittenSeptember 19, 2018 |

Hi crafters, hope you are all having a good week! In today’s blog post I have some Mermaid Treasures scrapbooking and cardmaking inspiration for you in the form of a few projects from our design team and one from me too.

SCALLOPED SEA SIDE LAYOUT

First up we have this fabulous page from Laura showcasing our Mermaid Treasures scallop pattern digital cut file. We have Laura to thank for suggesting the idea of doing this pattern as a cut file. It’s something new we’ve tried and it just looks so pretty when cut! You can size it to whatever fits your project, whether 12×12 for a layout or 6×6 for a card and you can cut from any material your machine can handle so it’s very versatile. I like how delicate it looks just cut from white cardstock.

To see how Laura made this layout watch the YouTube video here. The cute sea creatures are from our die-cut ephemera pack here.

MERMAZING CARD

In case you were wondering what the cut file looks like sized down for a card, here’s one I made earlier! To help the background stand out I kept the rest of the design pretty simple with just a few strips of paper from the basics paper pack, a mermazing stamped sentiment and a mermaid and merman from the die-cut ephemera pack.

HYTHE BEACH LAYOUT

This scrapbook page from Laura uses the offcuts from the digital cut file in the layout above to create a lovely effect of shell pieces scattered across the beach. Laura always manages to find perfect colours to match our collections and the purple and turquoise inks are spot on!

You can read more details on this layout on Laura’s blog post here

FINTASTIC DAY CARD

In the last blog post I introduced our new design team member Christine, and she has been busy with the new collection already!

For this card Christine has cut out the scalloped papers to make a wave design for the bottom of the card which looks awesome! I also love the nautical ribbon ring adorned with glittered starfish, and the glittered mermaid tail. The sentiment is from our Birthday Fishes stamp set and is set off by two pretty star sequins from the sequin pack.

DREAM BIG GLITTER AND KRAFT LAYOUT

Back over to Laura again for another dose of gorgeous scrapbooking inspiration! This time we have a dreamy seaside layout with a blue glitter card base, kraft paper layers and even some pretty foiled blue fish!

Some of my favourite elements of this design are the detail on the starfish (decorated with Liquitex ink and mica powder) and the glittered turtles. They just look SO fabulous! Think I will have to have a go at glittering some turtles too. To see how Laura made this page check out the YouTube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkrx75Xjg2E

I hope that gives you a bit of inspiration to be going on with! If you love all the items in the Mermaid Treasures range, the complete collection is available with a discount here.
