This week I’ve been doing Halloween crafts in anticipation of Halloween on Monday! We tend not to celebrate Halloween as much in the UK as the Americans do, but there are lots of nice craft supplies out there in the shape of pumpkins and ghosts and little monsters so I do like doing Halloween craft projects. Plus my mum-in-law’s birthday is on Halloween so I always have one themed card I can make :)
I made this card using papers from the Santoro Kori Kumi range from Craft Consortium. First I covered the card blank with a background piece of kraft card and then used one of the Tombow brush pens that I got for my birthday to write the sentiment (with terrible but passable calligraphy) on white card. I backed the card with a square of orange decoupage paper from the Kori Kumi range and attached it to the card with double sided tape.
Next I used my Spellbinders pumpkin dies to cut two sets of leaves and a pumpkin with trailing vine from orange and green Kori Kumi papers (from the 8×8 paper pack) and layered them up on the front of the card. I then added some pretty Kori Kumi adhesive dots and went over the text and leaves with my Wink of Stella glitter pen (though you can’t see it in the pic).
My next project was a little trick or treat bag using my own StickerKitten Birthday Dinos range of papers and stamps.
I used a plain blank kraft bag to decorate and began by cutting a few strips of different papers to stick across the front of the bag. I added a die cut star and some little triangle bunting, and then die cut a circle from white card to write ‘trick or treat’ on. I added a little dashed border to it to look like stitching.
Finally I stamped a little diplodocus using one of the Birthday Dinos stamps. I drew him some fangs and a little vampire cape, cut him out and added him to the front of the bag using foam squares.
Happy Halloween and happy crafting! x
