Eau de Nil cards – and blog hop!

Hi there! And welcome to my very first blog hop post! I’ve not done a blog hop before so thanks to Nikki Smith for getting us organised for the Creativity Club Design Team blog hop! Join the hop and have a look at what the design team have been making. Today I wanted to share with you some of the cards I’ve made using the papermania capsule collection Eau de Nil range. This is probably one of my favourite colourways so far (though they are all beautiful – it’s hard to pick!). I have been using it to make some very special cards indeed.

The first one is for Paula Whittaker, our fabulous docrafts design team buddy who has sadly now left the team. We wish her all the best in the future and continue to enjoy popping over to her blog and docrafts gallery to see all her beautiful clean and simple style cards. Paula’s not on our blog hop list today but you can check out her site here: justforoneday11.blogspot.co.uk

I tried to do a clean and simple style card for Paula:

But I still have some work to do on making them look as stylish as hers!

The next card I made with the Eau de Nil collection is an anniversary card for my hubby. We have been married for just over two years now <3

I used super cute mini pegs from the docrafts bare basics range to clip the sentiments to the card.

My next one is a simple birthday card for a friend, inspired by one of Keren Baker’s lovely cards.

It looks like a quick make but that bloody lace flower took me about an hour to cut out with my blunt scissors, and I kept accidentally ripping bits off it! Doesn’t look too bad from a distance though.

Finally, I decided to use the gorgeous Eau de Nil and Midnight Blush ranges to create my first ever scrapbook layout! I was inspired by one of Michelle Gower’s beautiful designs, but in the end I deviated quite far from her sketch!

I gave this to my mum for her birthday as a memento of our day out at the races last year. Now she has to start a big scrapbook to keep it in!

I am number 6, now carry on your blog hop with the next fantastic site on the list!

Some lovely projects, I haven’t used these papers before but they look so elegant with the embellishments so I will be trying them. Just hopping but I will be back to visit your blog.
