Christmas stitched embroidery hoops with StickerKitten alphabet stampsby StickerKittenNovember 16, 2018 |

Hi crafters, today we have a fabulous tutorial from DT member Sarah Gray showing us how to use the Alpaca Wishes stitched alphabet stamps to create these beautiful Christmas stitched embroidery hoops! Such a lovely idea for putting up round your home at Christmas or making little decorations for the tree, or even making as gifts for family and friends.

Instructions

  1. I have put together these felt stitched hoops using the stitched alphabet and Christmas alpacas stamp sets along with some colourful pieces of felt.
  2. The words and images were stamped on to the felt to give me a guide for stitching.
  3. I put the felt in to an embroidery hoop…
  4. ..and used white floss to back stitch the design.
  5. I added some French knots to add texture.
  6. I painted the hoops white and pulled the felt across the back.
  7. To give a neat finish I die cut a circle from the felt and attached that to the back of the hoop.

Aren’t these just the sweetest? I love the bright colours of felt Sarah has used and how the French knots look like snow. If, like me, you’re not so good at sewing then following these stamped designs is a great way to achieve a neat finish! Judging by Sarah’s beautiful stitching I don’t think she needed any help here though :) I also love that Sarah has added a neat little line of star sequins to the red one, from the Alpaca Wishes sequin pack.
