Celestial 12×12 scrapbook layoutby Katie MoodyNovember 1, 2020 |

Hello! Katie here, and today I wanted to show you a 12×12 scrapbook layout I created using the Celestial collection. I’ve not worked with a space theme before, usually opting for light or pastel colours, but this was such a joy to use! I am so impressed with the gorgeous Celestial papers; the colours are so rich and vibrant which meant I had to come up with a way to use them all and show them off!

I created a hexagon template by using this tutorial here YouTube, from a 2.5” square piece of paper. Then I simply used my template and cut out the hexagons from the gorgeous Celestial paper pack, as well as some plain blue and lilac card, and a lined one from a project life card to add some journaling. Some of the hexagons are placed on the page edge so you can trim the hexagon down and reuse the leftover elsewhere on the layout – that way you get to save and re-use as much paper as possible!

I also used the stamp set to add extra decoration on a couple of the hexagons. The moon stamp was perfect for my page layout which highlights a photo of me and my boyfriend. Who doesn’t love a good pun?! There are some great ones in this set. Originally, I stamped the larger ‘You’re outta this world’ stamp for my title but changed it to use some silver glitter thickers instead.

I also used some pieces from the Celestial ephemera pack which has a huge amount in so plenty to choose from! I dotted these around on top of the hexagons to break up some of the angles. The larger planet and the moon shape are from the Space Dog Ephemera pack and adds some fun to the page – I mean how can you not smile at their cute faces!

I think it’s easy to worry about things not matching when it’s a specifically themed collection because obviously we won’t have any ‘space’ photos to pair it with, but this collection is so versatile. It’s perfect for black and white photos or darker tones photos because the rich jewel tones really can speak for themselves!

I loved creating this page and using the collection. I’m definitely converted to darker colours now and I can’t wait to create more layouts with it. I think the hexagon background would look lovely if you stitched around them too, but if you have some papers like these that are too pretty not to use them all, then I recommend a layout like this! The wonderful thing about the paper pack is they all go together without even thinking or wasting time trying to match lots of colours from your own stash.

I hope you like my layout and feel free to scraplift for your own! Be sure to tag me and StickerKitten on Instagram if you do, we’d love to see!
