Hi there crafters, today I’m blogging about a couple of Mother’s Day cards I’ve made with the pretty Bloom Beautiful paper pad from Craft Consortium. I had this paper pad out on my desk for a few days while I made some Valentine’s cards, and I though the designs would be great for Mother’s Day cards too!
I chose a simple design for this card, starting out with some dusky plum cardstock on the base of the card. I bought this cardstock a couple of years ago and it just happens to perfectly match this range! Next I added a strip of feather patterned paper and then purple loop patterned paper cut into a pennant shape. This is a basic design that I use often and just vary the topper and sentiment.
I fussy-cut a rose from the sheet of toppers at the front of the Bloom Beautiful paper pack and added it to the card with foam squares, tucking the sentiment behind it. The calligraphy sentiment was handwritten by my very useful husband (have a look at his cool Instagram page here) and I love the style so much I have been getting him to write the sentiments for nearly all my recent cards!
This one isn’t strictly a Mother’s Day card but I thought it might do nicely for the occasion nonetheless so I’ve included it here. I started with an A6 card blank and added a panel of floral patterned paper. I attached it with thick foam tape so it stands forward from the card and gives it a nice luxury feel. Next I added some elements I’d cut out from the toppers page in the paper pack, including the row of flowers at the bottom, the lovely watercolour bird and the trailing leaves at the top of the card. I added the sentiment bottom right and some little paper flowers I had in my craft drawer to the top right, to look like they had grown out of the leaves.
